Portugal: Arraiolos Tapestry Museum

The city of Arraiolos, in Portugal’s region of Alentejo, is famed for the beautiful embroidered rugs it has produced since the Middle Ages.

The architectural firm CVDB  converted an old hospital building into a Tapestry Museum that honors and preserves its people’s past and provides a public space that “streamlines the town’s social and cultural life”.
